My confidence varies quite a bit depending on the topic and type of question. I tend to be more confident about:

- Well-established factual information (basic science, history, widely-accepted knowledge)
- Logic and reasoning tasks
- Explaining concepts I have good training data on

I'm less confident about:
- Very recent events (my training has a cutoff date)
- Highly specialized or niche topics
- Subjective matters where reasonable people disagree
- Specific predictions about the future
- Personal advice for complex life situations

I try to be honest about uncertainty when I feel it, but I'm sure I sometimes express more confidence than is warranted - or conversely, am overly cautious about things I actually know well. The tricky thing is that I don't always have great insight into the quality of my own knowledge or reasoning.

I generally aim to give you my best assessment while flagging when I'm uncertain, but I'd encourage you to think critically about my responses, especially on important matters. Is there a particular area you're curious about my confidence level on?
